This Cookie Policy provides information on the use of cookies, local storage, session storage, pixel tags and similar tracking technologies deployed on the XBTM portal operated by BT SA. It forms an integral part of the overall data-protection and contractual documentation of the XBTM portal, together with the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions.
Applicable legal framework: Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the
Council concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic
communications sector (ePrivacy Directive), as implemented in the applicable national laws; Regulation
(EU) 2016/679 (GDPR); Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP / nFADP).
Operator and contact: BT SA, Microcity, Rue de la Pierre-à-Mazel 39, 2000 Neuchâtel,
Switzerland — CS@XBTM.NET.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the browser or device (laptop, smartphone, tablet)
of the visitor at the time of the visit. They allow the website to remember session choices, to preserve
authentication states and, where applicable, to analyse usage or deliver customised content. In addition to
cookies, the XBTM portal uses similar technologies such as localStorage,
sessionStorage and transparent pixel tags where strictly required for operational purposes.
| Category | Activation regime | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary cookies | Permanently active — Cannot be disabled as they are essential to the service | PHP session identifier (PHPSESSID) used for authenticated client access; shopping-cart state tokens; cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection tokens; remember-me identifiers where applicable; login brute-force protection markers; layout and interface preference markers. In the absence of such cookies, core functions such as login, authenticated dashboard access and checkout would not operate correctly. | Session cookies (expire when the browser tab or window is closed) — up to 12 months for persistent remember-me identifiers. |
| Analytics and performance cookies | Opt-in only — require explicit consent | Aggregated and anonymised analysis of portal usage: most-visited pages, JavaScript error rates, device-type and browser-type breakdown, performance and stability diagnostics. Internet-protocol addresses are pseudonymised or truncated before storage. Data are used by BT SA solely to improve portal stability and user experience. | Session identifiers (up to 1 day) and persistent identifiers (up to 13 months). |
| Functional and payment-related cookies | Opt-in only — require explicit consent | Retention of interface-related preferences selected during the visit, such as last-used payment-method preference (bank transfer, card, TrustWire or crypto), last active section of a multi-step workflow and list-sort order. | Session identifiers or persistent identifiers (up to 6 months). |
| Marketing cookies | Opt-in only — require explicit consent | Where and if activated by the visitor, delivery of relevant commercial content on third-party platforms, measurement of promotion performance for gold and silver products and abandoned-cart remarketing campaigns. | Maximum 13 months. |
The following providers and technologies are currently involved in the storage or generation of cookies and similar identifiers on the XBTM portal or on associated external domains used during the client journey:
Visitors and clients may, at any time, block or remove cookies through the settings of their browser or device. The main access paths are, respectively: Google Chrome — Settings — Privacy and security; Apple Safari — Settings — Privacy; Mozilla Firefox — Privacy and Security; Microsoft Edge — Cookies and site permissions. Detailed instructions are generally published in the support section of each browser publisher.
Where the Necessary cookie category is fully blocked or removed by the visitor, essential functions such as authenticated client login, dashboard access and order submission may not operate correctly. All other categories (Analytics, non-essential Functional and Marketing) may be refused without any adverse effect on the availability of the core contractual services.
BT SA respects the generic browser signals Sec-GPC (Global Privacy Control) and the legacy
DNT (Do Not Track) header. Where one of these signals is received, non-necessary cookie
categories are defaulted to the inactive state until a separate, explicit, opt-in consent is obtained
through the specific cookie-consent interface of the portal, where applicable.
Where required by the applicable national implementation of the ePrivacy Directive, a cookie-consent banner is presented to the visitor on the first visit. The banner offers granular category-level choices (Necessary only / Analytics / Functional / Marketing) as well as "Accept all" and "Reject non-necessary" options, as appropriate under the applicable law. A validly given consent is stored locally on the visitor's device and, where technically appropriate, on BT SA's systems, for up to 12 months.
The visitor or client may withdraw a previously given consent at any time and free of charge by sending a written request to CS@XBTM.NET, quoting the subject line "Withdrawal of cookie consent" and indicating the user identifier or the registered electronic-mail address used on the portal, where applicable.
This Cookie Policy shall be read together with the complete XBTM Privacy Policy, which provides the general framework for the processing of personal data carried out by BT SA, and with the XBTM Terms and Conditions, which govern the overall contractual relationship between BT SA and the client.
Any question, request or complaint relating to the application of this Cookie Policy shall be addressed in writing to CS@XBTM.NET or by registered letter to BT SA, Microcity, Rue de la Pierre-à-Mazel 39, 2000 Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
